Emanuel Ernst

Emanuel Ernst (born November 11, 1979 in Cologne ) is a German western rider .

Career

Since his parents bred ponies, he already rode in his childhood. At the age of 15 he went to Jeff Kasten in the USA for three months. There he got to know the quarter horses and the reining sport and his interest was aroused. A year later followed another stay with Jeff Kasten, this time for six months. After his return to Germany he got the quarter horse mare April Bar Whiz , which he trained himself and presented at tournaments from 1997. At the age of 18, after graduating from secondary school, he moved to Italy , where he worked for Markus Schöpfer as assistant coach for two and a half years . He then went back to America to work as an assistant coach for Craig Schmersal . After his community service he started in 2003 to its own facility in Windeck independently .

In 2007 he became German champion. At the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington (Kentucky) , he finished sixth with the team.

His younger brother Elias Ernst is also active in reining and was part of the German team at the 2015 European Championships in Aachen .
