Christoph Luchsinger

Christoph Luchsinger (* May 7, 1954 ; † November 6, 2019 ) was a Swiss architect . He lived and worked in Lucerne and Vienna .

Career

Christoph Luchsinger graduated in architecture from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). He worked as a research assistant and lecturer in the history of urban development for Professor André Corboz at the ETHZ and as an editor of the journal Werk, Bauen + Wohnen . He taught as a lecturer at the Urban Landscape Center at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur (ZHAW) and as a visiting professor at the ETHZ, TU Ljubljana and TU Graz . From 1991 he ran an architecture office in Lucerne together with Max Bosshard . Christoph Luchsinger, together with Max Bosshard, is one of the first in German-speaking countries to address the phenomenon of the expansion of settlement areas into the landscape - a phenomenon that has also been widely discussed under the name of Zwischenstadt . From 2009 to 2019, Christoph Luchsinger was Professor of Urban Development and Design at the Vienna University of Technology . Luchsinger died on November 6, 2019 shortly after his retirement.
