Emer Martin

Emer Martin (born February 29, 1968 in Dublin ) is an Irish writer , painter and filmmaker.

According to her, Martin lived in Paris and London , the Middle East, and various places in the United States. She studied painting in New York ; a solo exhibition of her painting took place at the Origin Gallery in Dublin. As a filmmaker she has made several short films ; She also produced Irvine Welsh's directorial debut, Nuts , in 2007 .

Martin has been active as a writer since 1995; her first Roman Breakfast in Babylon won the Kerry Ingredients Book of the Year Award in 1996. Two further novels appeared in 1999 and 2007. In 2000 she was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship .

Martin lives in California's Silicon Valley and County Meath, Ireland (as of fall 2019).
