The Emerald Point ( Polish Przylądek Szmaragdowy , Smaragdkap ' ) is a towering headland of King George Island in the South Shetland Islands . It lies on the banks of Cardozo Cove , one of the two branches of the Ezcurra Fjord .
Polish scientists named it in 1980 based on the naming of the neighboring Emerald Icefalls .
