college

Emerson College was founded in 1962 by Francis Edmunds . It is on the edge of Forrest Row , a small community in East Sussex , England . Over the years it had developed into an international adult education institution where students from over forty nations take long and short term courses. It was the founder's intention, based on Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophy to create a place where the development of the individual skills of the students for the benefit of themselves and for the people is encouraged. This happens through lectures, individual projects, practical work and various artistic activities within the individual disciplines.

"Emerson College" has gone through many personal and economic crises since it was founded. The last time it stood before financial collapse was 2010. That could be prevented by a general debt relief. A complete restructuring followed, with the individual departments working independently of one another in organization and finance, but cooperating under the umbrella of an Emserson Trust .
