Emhart Teknologies is a manufacturer of fastening technology with headquarters in Shelton, CT (USA). In Germany, Emhart Teknologies operates as Tucker GmbH and is based in Giessen .

history

In 1888, George Tucker started a small company in Birmingham, UK, making eyelets for leather shoes. In 1900 the George Tucker Eyelet Company became part of the United Shoe Machinery Company (USM), USA. In the 1940s, following a request from the aircraft industry, the first POP “blind” rivet was developed by the George Tucker Eyelet Company. In the 1950s, growth opportunities for POP rivets were recognized in the industrial markets within the EEC. Tucker GmbH was founded in 1959 in Giessen, Germany. In the 1970s, Tucker GmbH began manufacturing stud welding devices, studs and plastic parts and supplied them to the automotive industry. USM opened new branches for connection technology in Spain, France and the Scandinavian countries. In 1976 USM and Hartford Empire merged to form Emhart. Emhart was bought by Black & Decker Corporation in 1989. In 1999, Tucker GmbH opened a new, ultra-modern plastic production facility in Giessen. In 2010 Black & Decker merged with Stanleyworks and has since formed the Stanley Black & Decker Corporation .

renaming

On February 27, 2013, the takeover of Infastech by Emhart Teknologies became legally binding. The company, headquartered in Asia, brings the brands Avdel , ElCo and iForm into the company. The two units have been merged and have been called STANLEY Engineered Fastening from the day of the takeover .
