Emidio Greco

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Emidio Greco (born October 20, 1938 in Leporano , † December 22, 2012 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Greco moved to Turin in the 1950s and in 1966 obtained his directorial diploma at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. The documentary film Venceremos y vencimos , shot in Chile, was followed by numerous works for the RAI , to whose cultural and documentary programs he contributed. In 1974 he made his first feature film: the unusual and fascinating film L'invenzione di Morel was based on the novel by Bioy Casares . After the Karen Blixen filming Ehrengard and the Un caso d'incoscienza , which was made for television, there followed a simple case , which featured Gian Maria Volontès in the lead role and was awarded the Nastro d'Argento and the Golden Lion . The works he created afterwards, as always shot according to his own script, could then no longer meet the expectations placed on him, until in 2011 his Note degli scavi received another “Globo d'oro”.
