The Emil-Krause-Schule (in its own spelling also Emil Krause Schule , until 2019 Barmbek district school ) is a district school in Hamburg . It has two locations, one each in the two districts of Barmbek-Nord and Dulsberg . The school was created in 2009 from the merger of the Tieloh school with the Fraenkelstraße school and the Emil-Krause-Gymnasium .

history
The Barmbek district school was created in 2009 from the merger of the Tieloh school, the Fraenkelstraße school and the Krausestraße high school. Until 2018, classes were maintained at all three locations, with a vertical division. This led to problems with the merger process and the move was made to arrange the lessons horizontally according to the age group according to location.
On August 1st, 2019, the school was renamed Emil-Krause-Schule. It is named after the former Hamburg school senator Emil Krause .

Grades 5 to 7 as well as the upper school level are taught at the Krausestrasse location, grades 8-10 as well as ESA and MSA classes at Tieloh. ESA stands for “first general school leaving certificate”, earlier secondary school leaving certificate . MSA stands for middle school leaving certificate .
