Emil Beischläger

Emil Beischläger (born September 23, 1897 in Vienna , † December 19, 1977 there ) was an Austrian painter .

Life

Emil Beischläger was the son of the Imperial and Royal Court Councilor Albert Beischläger (* 1855) and his wife Marie. Beischläger began as an autodidact, but took private lessons in 1923 and 1924 and became a member of the Künstlerhaus Wien in 1939 . His study trips took him through large parts of Europe. He made landscapes, portraits, still lifes and graphics, some of which can be seen in the Historical Museum of the City of Vienna . In 1972 he showed his work in the Künstlerhaus Vienna. In 1974 he received the Cross of Honor for Science and Art, First Class .
