Johansson, who starts for the IK Jarl Rättvik, has been taking part in FIS competitions since 2007 . He mainly competes in FIS races and has so far won three. In February 2009 he took part in the cross-country skiing Scandinavian Cup in Ulricehamn for the first time and finished 77th in the sprint. In November 2013 he won the sprint at the US Super Tour in West Yellowstone . He ran his first World Cup race in Stockholm in February 2016 , which he finished in 50th place in the sprint. In the same month he picked up in Lahtiwith the 29th place in the sprint his World Cup points. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season he came back into the points in his fourth World Cup start with 29th place in the sprint in Davos .
