Emil Klaus

Emil Klaus (born September 3, 1907 in Bischoffingen ; † November 16, 1994 ibid) was a German farmer and winemaker.

Career

In 1938 Klaus became a member of the supervisory board of the Bischoffinger Winzergenossenschaft. Two years later he became its chairman and from 1942 to 1952 he was managing director. In 1950 he was a co-founder of the German Viticulture Association and in 1952 co-founder of the Zentralellerei Badischer Winzergenossenschaften (ZBW) in Breisach and its managing director until 1972.

From 1947 to 1952 he was a member of the Baden state parliament for the CDU . From 1965 to 1977 he was President of the Baden Viticulture Association and from 1952 to 1980 Vice President of the German Viticulture Association.
