Emil Wehrle

Emil Wehrle (born July 2, 1891 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † July 11, 1962 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German social scientist.

Wehrle studied economics and law at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . The first doctorate took place in 1913 on educational duties , which led to the Dr. iur. followed in 1920 with a dissertation on labor law . From 1921 to 1925 he headed the Baden State Labor Office. From 1923 he taught as a private lecturer at the University of Heidelberg and was appointed to the Nuremberg Commercial College in 1925 , where he was rector from 1926 to 1928. In 1929 he was given a chair at the TH Karlsruhe , and in 1933 at the University of Marburg . In 1936 he moved to the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . After 1945 he became head of the Institute for Handicrafts, Institute for Cooperatives and Institute for Economic and Social Policy.

In November 1933 he signed the professors' declaration of Adolf Hitler at German universities and colleges . In 1937 Wehrle joined the NSDAP .
