Emile Benassit

Emile Benassit (born December 20, 1833 in Bordeaux , † August 7 or 9, 1902 in Jouarre , Département Seine-et-Marne ) was a French painter, etcher, lithographer, graphic artist and caricaturist.

In his youth he spent several years in London . Between 1870 and 1889 he was involved several times in the Paris Salon, a. a. with Cosaque (1870), Le commandeur (1887) and Retour des avant-garde (1889). As a cartoonist and illustrator, he has worked for various magazines and newspapers, including Le Figaro , La Lune and l'Événdement.
