Donald Tardy is an American drummer who co-founded the death metal band Obituary in the 1980s and can also be heard on albums by Andrew WK and Meathook Seed . Together with his brother John Tardy he initiated the Obituary side project Tardy Brothers .

biography

In the mid-1980s, Tardy was a member and co-founder of the band Executioner, which was renamed Xecutioner in 1987 and Obituary in 1989. He was and is active in this until its dissolution in 1998 and again since reunification in 2004. In the early 1990s he was a brief member of Mitch Harris ' project Meathook Seed and played the drums for the recordings for the album Embedded . He returned to the band as a guest drummer for the recordings of the 1999 Meathook Seed album BIBLE (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) . As a member of Andrew WK's band, he took part in the recordings of the album I Get Wet and went on tour with the band in the following years. In the death metal project Tardy Brothers, founded in 2008, which he leads together with his brother John, he can be heard on the electric guitar and bass in addition to drums .

During the recordings for the album True Carnage by the band Six Feet Under , he was involved as a drum technician .
