Tardy Brothers ( English Tardy Brothers) is the name of an American death metal project from Gibsonton , Florida . It was founded in 2008 and consists essentially of the brothers John and Donald Tardy , who became known as members of the band Obituary .

history

The debut album Bloodline was released in 2009 on the British record label Candlelight Records . The songs on the album were written over a long period of time until they were finally recorded:

“Donald and I jam together and think about music. [...] We just didn't have time to finish and record the songs until we built our own recording studio. "

- John Tardy

The guest guitarists on Bloodline were Ralph Santolla, who joined Obituary at the time (also on Deicide , as well as Death and Iced Earth before ), John Li ( Order of Ennead ), Jerry Tidwell ( member of the Obituary together with the Tardy Brothers in the mid- 1980s ). Predecessor band Xecutioner) and Scott Johnson. The album's lyrics are by John Tardy, the music by Donald Tardy, with the exception of the song Wired, written and recorded by Santolla . The cover shows a blood-splattered tractor-trailer driving towards the viewer . The stylized “TB” logo on its radiator grille was designed by Andreas Marschall .

The band's first live performance is scheduled for October 22, 2011 in Tampa .

style

Although the musicians' goal was not to sound like Obituary, the music of the Tardy Brothers differs only slightly from their main band, apart from a slight touch of rock . What is striking is the sound of the guitars, which in contrast to Obituary was recorded less distorted and offers the guest guitarist space for solos and acoustic insertions.
