Emilis Šlekys
Emilis Šlekys (born August 6, 1951 in Pabiržė , Biržai district ; † October 30, 2012 ) was a Lithuanian chess player. His coach was Aloyzas Paužolis, employee of the “Nemunas” club. In 1973 he became a candidate for sports champion . 1985 Šlekys was Lithuanian single champion. He also played correspondence chess . He carried the title of International Correspondence Chess Master. As a chess coach, he worked from 1975 at the Sports School in Vilnius . From 1987 he was director of this school.
