Emily Kraft (born February 18, 2002 in Frankfurt aM ) is a German-Irish soccer player with Austrian roots. She plays in the league for the U17 Bundesliga team of 1. FFC Frankfurt . The striker made her debut for Ireland's senior national team on January 20, 2019, when the Girls in Green played a friendly against Belgium at the age of 16, and Kraft has already been included in the starting line-up.
Clubs and club careers
The daughter of an Irish woman and a German-Austrian grew up in Gernsheim . She started playing soccer at the age of three, first at SV Concordia Gernsheim and immediately afterwards at RSV Germania 03 Pfungstadt . At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, Emily Kraft switched to the U15 team of 1. FFC Frankfurt and has been playing in the U17 team since 2016 in the B-Juniorinnen-Bundesliga . Across the seasons, the U17 striker has scored 17 goals in 36 games so far. Emily Kraft has been one of two team captains since the start of the current season. The passionate skier and golfer has both feet, but scores most goals with her right foot.
Hessen selection
Emily Kraft has been a player in the Hessian selection teams since 2010 and has won a total of 3 tournaments, most recently in 2018 with 8 students from the Carl-von-Weinberg-Schule the U18 viewing tournament (regional cup in Duisburg).
Irish national teams
For school reasons, the striker first attended courses at the DFB and played three games for the U-16 national team in 2017. The Irish A and U17 national coach Colin Bell called the high school student into the U17 squad for the U17 European Championship qualification in Serbia due to her physical and mental strength. Kraft scored four goals against Albania in the first game and provided an assist. Immediately after the tournament, Irish head coach Emily Kraft appointed one of 20 players to an A national team course in Dublin. Kraft made her debut in the Irish national team on January 20, 2019, during a friendly match between the Irish women and Belgium in Murcia and was voted “Best Player of the Match”.
School education
Since the beginning of the 2014/15 school year, Emily Kraft has been a student at the Carl-von-Weinberg School, a partner school for competitive sports within the framework of the Elite School of Sports in Frankfurt am Main, and has been attending the upper level there since 2018 with the aim of obtaining the general university entrance qualification . The school team of the Carl-Weinberg-Schule won the gold medal in competition class II in 2018 and will represent Germany in Serbia at the school world championship in spring 2019.
