Emin Khachaturian

Emin Chatschaturjan ( Armenian Էմին Խաչատրյան , Russian Эмин Левонович Хачатурян Emin Levonowitsch Chatschaturjan ; * August 5, 1930 , † August 5, 2000 in Yerevan , Armenia ) was a Soviet-Armenian conductor and composer . He was the son of the singer Levon Chatschaturjan, a brother of the composer Aram Chatschaturjan .

Emin Khachaturian studied composition and conducting at the Moscow Conservatory . He was, among other things, conductor of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra of the Bolshoi Theater and chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of the USSR for cinematography (1966–1979). He made numerous recordings, especially with composers from the USSR. Chatschaturian was honored in 1975 as " People's Artist of the RSFSR ". Until his death in 2000, he ran the "Aram Chatschaturian Association" together with his cousin, the actress Leily Chatschaturian.
