Paul Herwig

Paul Herwig (born April 10, 1970 in Berlin ) is a German actor.

Life

Paul Herwig grew up in West Berlin, where he graduated from the Queen Luise Foundation in 1989. He started playing the piano and drums at an early age. At the age of 14 he was discovered for a leading role in the series Die Schwarzwaldklinik . After graduating from high school, he received his acting training at the Hanover University of Music and Theater . After completing his acting studies in 1994, he played the leading role in the three-part television film Die Tote von Amelung . After further engagements in cinema and television films, he became a permanent member of the ensemble at the Residenztheater in Munich from 1995 to 2001 . He was there, among other things, in leading roles in the playsThe Broken Jug , Clavigo , The Black Rider and Midsummer Night's Dream to see. He then moved to the Münchner Kammerspiele under the artistic direction of Frank Baumbauer . Here he worked under the direction of Thomas Ostermeier , Johan Simons , Andreas Kriegenburg , Sebastian Nübling , Roger Vontobel, Luk Perceval and many others. He played leading roles there a. a. in Don Karlos , Prince Friedrich von Homburg and Little Man - what now? . From 2008 to 2013 Paul Herwig lived as a freelance actor in London. Since 2013 he has been part of the ensemble of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. Paul Herwig lives with his family in Berlin.
