action

The five friends Frankie, Jonny, Max, Witus and Ralle live in the East Frisian province and want to make their somewhat monotonous everyday life more varied. Frankie is passionate about Far Eastern meditation and martial arts techniques, and when they break into a sports shop - they almost get caught - they steal martial arts suits and equipment. You train as a ninja troop in remote places and do youthful mischief. Frankie gets a first date and after they are thrown out of a discotheque and Jonny makes off with the car and a girl, plans a bomb attack on a village rifle party.

criticism

“Hans-Erich Viet, 42, author and director of the provincial history, comes from the land behind the dykes and has so far made documentaries. He manages to set a suggestive memorial to the heavy-bloodedness of the country and its people. "

Awards

The film was awarded the film prize of the Saarland Prime Minister for best director at the 1993 Max Ophüls Prize film festival .
