Alfred Kerr Acting Award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Alfred Kerr Actor Award is a theater award for young German-speaking actors. The award is named after the Berlin theater critic Alfred Kerr . It is awarded by the Alfred Kerr Foundation as part of the Berlin Theatertreffen and is endowed with 5,000 euros. The prize was donated by the children of Alfred Kerr, Judith and Michael, together with the Tagesspiegel press foundation . It is intended to tie in with the great tradition of Berlin theater and provide impetus for future development.

A prominent theater artist who changes every year acts as a juror who chooses the winner from the ensembles of the productions invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen.

The Alfred Kerr Actor Prize should not be confused with the Alfred Kerr Prize , which the Börsenblatt awards every year for the German book trade .
