Emma of Provence
Emma of Provence (* 1014; † after 1063) was through her marriage to Wilhelm III. Countess of Toulouse and heiress of one half of the county of Provence.
Emma was the daughter of Rotbald III. , Count of Provence , and his wife Ermengarde. She married William III, Count of Toulouse in 1019 , and in 1037 inherited half of Provence from her brother William V , which was then called the Margraviate of Provence .
Emma and Wilhelm III. had four children:
- Pons II. Wilhelm († probably 1061), 1037 Count of Toulouse ; ⚭ 1) before 1037 Marjorie; ⚭ 2) before June 29, 1053 Almodis de la Marche , daughter of Bernhard I , Count of La Marche
- Bertrand; 1030 attested
- Daughter ; ⚭ Fulko Bertrand I , 1018 Count of Provence
- Rangarde (Rengause); Testified in 1054/97, ⚭ Peter II Raimund , Count of Carcassonne , Vice-Count of Béziers and Vice-Count of Agde
