Emmanuel Mapunda
Emmanuel A. Mapunda (born December 10, 1935 in Parangu - † May 16, 2019 ) was a Tanzanian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Mbinga .
Life
Emmanuel A. Mapunda was ordained a priest for the Territorial Abbey of Peramiho on August 8, 1965 .
Pope . John Paul II appointed him on 22 December 1986 as Bishop of Arusha and donated to him on January 6, 1987 in St. Peter's Basilica , the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were the Curia Archbishops Eduardo Martínez Somalo and José Tomás Sánchez .
On March 12, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age. He died in May 2019 while traveling by air.
