The Bistum Mbinga ( latin Dioecesis Mbingaensis ) is an in Tanzania preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Mbinga .

history

The diocese of Mbinga was established on December 22, 1986 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Id proprium from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Songea and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam as a suffragan . First Bishop was Emmanuel Mapunda .

On November 18, 1987, the Diocese of Mbinga was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Songea as a suffragan.

A partnership has existed between the Mbinga diocese and the Würzburg diocese since 1987 .
