Emmanuel Sá

Emmanuel Sá (* 1530 in Vila do Conde ; † December 30, 1596 in Arona , Piedmont ) was a Portuguese theologian , priest and teacher .

He studied Philosophy and Catholic Theology at the University of Coimbra . In April 1545 he was accepted into the Jesuit order . After various teaching activities as a professor of theology, u. a. in Spain, he took over a teaching position at the Collegium Romanum from 1557 . His most important work is Aphorismi Confessariorum ex Doctorum sententiis collecti (over 50 new editions), published one year before his death after 40 years of working. In 1603 this work was placed on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum .
