Emortualis is an Italian death metal band from Novara , which was founded in 1989 under the name Hellraiser , disbanded in 1993 and has been active again since 2014.

history

The band was founded in 1989 under the name Hellraiser. After a few rehearsals, a first demo was recorded in 1991 under the name Written by Death . This was followed by appearances in northwest Italy together with local bands. A live demo was recorded during a performance with Alligator. In 1993 it was dissolved due to personal problems. In 2009, Huginn Productions released the compilation Re-Writted by Death (After 16 Years of Tomb) .

In 2014 the group came together again with a different line-up. The bassist and singer Marco "M." De Rosa, the drummer Fa and the guitarist Azmodan remained from the old line-up. As another guitarist, AS joined in January 2016. Shortly thereafter, the band went to the dEN studio to record the EP Biological . It was released in 2017 via The Spew Records , a sub-label of Punishment 18 Records .

style

James Peterson from metal-temple.com assigned the band to Death Metal in his review of Biological . The group plays this genre in typical Italian style and can be classified between Fleshgod Apocalypse , Hour of Penance and Hideous Divinity . The mentioned bands would like Nile and Behemoth on an overwhelming production sound, high game speed, influences from Black Metal and riffs with Tremolo - Picking put what Emortualis but renounce. Rather, they play raw classic Death Metal, which is completely free of computer processing, in the style of the 1990s. Peterson drew a comparison with hemorrhage . The song material was mixed very badly and was more of a demo quality. Occasionally the group also used clear vocals.
