Michigan tries an "empty net goal"

Empty Net Goal is a certain goal hit in ice hockey and related games such as inline skater hockey , inline hockey or floorball .

In suitable situations, a team can take the goalkeeper off the field in order to bring about a power play with an additional field player , which exerts greater pressure on the opponent. Most of the time, this tactic is used just before the end of the game when the game is close, when the chance of an equalizer is more important than the risk of another opposing hit. However, if the opposing team manages to hit the empty goal in this situation, one speaks of an empty net goal .
