En + is a Russian company owned by oligarch Oleg Deripaska . En + has a controlling majority (47.41%) in RUSAL as well as the electricity supplier EuroSibEnergo , the ferro-molybdenum manufacturer SMR , and the coal miners Vostsibugol , Bogatyr Coal and Tuva Mining Company .
En + was founded in 2002 as a holding company for several aluminum smelters that today form RUSAL.
For tax reasons, the company's registered office is in Saint Helier , Jersey .
US sanctions
On April 6, 2018, the company was from the United States with sanctions occupied. The company's assets were frozen and US citizens were prohibited from doing business with the company. Non-US citizens also face sanctions if they continue business contacts with the company. The reason given by the US Treasury Secretary was the annexation of the Crimean peninsula , the support of the Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad , the influence on Western democracies and the promotion of cybercrime .
