Dennis Arvid Kramer (born January 10, 1992 in Cologne ) is an American - German basketball player . After studying in the United States, Kramer began a professional career in his native country, where he moved from the second division Baunach to the first division TBB Trier after the start of the 2014/15 season. With the German junior national team, Kramer achieved fifth place at the 2011 U20 European Championship. He has been playing for the BG Göttingen since 2017 .
Career
Kramer is the son of Arvid Kramer , who worked in Germany as a player and later as a club manager at Telekom Baskets Bonn for a long time before returning to the United States in 2004. Dennis Kramer graduated from La Costa Canyon High School in Encinitas in the USA and went to study at the nearby University of San Diego , where he played for the university team Toreros from 2010 in the West Coast Conference (WCC) of the NCAA . During Kramer's time in San Diego, the WCC championships were played between the Gaels of St. Mary's College of California and the Bulldogs of Gonzaga University , which included the German youth international Elias Harris . The toreros remained without major success and also missed a participation in a national postseason tournament of the NCAA. At the end of his studies , Kramer was able to perpetuate himself in the toreros' best lists as the fifth best shot blocker of all time. After Kramer had already participated in the 2010 U18 European Championship with the German U18 national team , he achieved a remarkable fifth place with the German junior national team at the 2011 U20 European Championship.
After completing his studies in 2014, Kramer began a professional career and returned to his native country, where he signed a contract with Brose Baskets from Bamberg , where Elias Harris already played. Here Kramer, who had not turned 23 after completing his studies, played with a double license, especially for the Bamberg “ farm team ” Bike-Café Messingschlager from Baunach in the second highest division, ProA . Just one month after the start of the season, Kramer, who was not used by the first division club, switched to first division competitor TBB Trier at the beginning of November 2014, where a player was out due to injury. He played 25 Bundesliga games for Trier and accepted an offer from another Bundesliga club, EWE Baskets Oldenburg , for the 2015/16 season .
In June 2017, Kramer moved from Oldenburg to Lower Saxony's Bundesliga competitor BG Göttingen .
