history
Gonzaga University was founded in 1887 by Father Joseph Cataldo, a priest from Italy. The university is named after Aloisius von Gonzaga .
Sports
The Gonzaga University sports teams are called the Bulldogs . The university is a member of the West Coast Conference . The small college is well known throughout the country for its basketball team. Gonzaga University has also produced several NBA players.
