The Wheeling Jesuit University is a private university in Roman Catholic , Jesuit sponsorship, based in Wheeling , West Virginia , USA .

The college was founded in 1954 by the Jesuit Order as Wheeling College . In 1987 the university was renamed Wheeling Jesuit College . In 1990 it received university status. She is one of 28 members of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities .
