Emma Lina Stach (born October 4, 1996 in Buchholz in the north heath ) is a German basketball player . At 1.75 m tall, she plays in the position of the builder .

Career

Stach began her career with the Buchholz Wild Girls in TSV Sprötze. After moving to BG 89 Rotenburg / Scheeßel, at the age of 13 she was the youngest player ever to play in the 2nd women's basketball league . After the rise of her club, she made her debut in the 1st women's basketball league at the age of 14 . She is also the youngest player to ever play in the first division. In 2011 she was nominated as the youngest player of all time for the U-16 national team and won the European B championship with the German U-16 national team. She herself was elected the best point guard and thus in the selection team of the best players of the tournament.

In 2011, Stach set a WNBL record with 59 points in the game against the Metropol Girls Recklinghausen . At the end of 2011, at the age of 15, she was the youngest starting five player to ever appear in the 1st women's basketball division. At the A-EM 2012 in the U 16, she was the first German top scorer. In 2012 she was voted DBBL Rookie of the Year.

In the Bundesliga match in 2012 against TSV Wasserburg, she scored 25 points and made a significant contribution to the victory of her team against the championship favorites. The former German national coach and coach of TSV Wasserburg, Bastian Wernthaler , attested her to be the best young player in Germany.

In March 2014, Stach announced that he had received and accepted an offer from Gonzaga University to join the Gonzaga Bulldogs in Spokane in autumn 2014 . Another German already played there with Sonja Greinacher . In July 2017 she took her first course in the jersey of the women's national basketball team.

Stach stayed at Gonzaga University until the end of the 2017/18 game year. During her college days, she made a total of 131 missions for the university team, recording averages of 6.1 points and 2.4 rebounds. In June 2018, the reigning German champion Rutronik Stars Keltern Stachs announced commitment. In the same year, she made the leap to the women's national team. In August 2019 she became German champion in the basketball game "3-on-3" . For the 2019/20 season she moved to Hungary to the club PINKK Pécsi.

Personal

Her father Matthias Stach is a presenter for the television channel Eurosport and a tennis expert. Mother Julia plays handball and brother Anton plays football first at SSV Jeddeloh, then at VfL Wolfsburg . Her sister Lotta Stach also plays basketball.
