The Königsworther Bridge in Hanover is considered to be one of the most beautiful bridges in the city. The sculptor Carl Dopmeyer created their four magnificent candelabra . The heritage-protected segment arch bridge crosses the Leine in Calenberger Neustadt in the course of Königsworther Straße .

history

In 1889 the Lindener Straße was laid out as a direct connection from Königsworther Platz to Linden (the street was only renamed in 1905 after the former village). For this purpose, the bridge over the Leine was built by a builder who is no longer known today until 1890 as a flat, single- arch bridge with natural stone faced with an attractive, openwork railing.

It was not until 1898 that the bridge received its four splendid copper-plated candelabra from Carl Dopmeyer as a special ornament. They show classic mythical creatures of the sea and are richly decorated with vegetable forms .
