Hugo Thielen (born June 11, 1946 in Eschweiler ) is a freelance publisher's editor. From 1966 he studied German, philosophy and education in Bonn; Degree: Master of Arts (MA) and state examination. Since 1973 in Hanover, full-time and part-time editor / lecturer for various publishers (Schroedel Schulbuchverlag, Hanover, until 1981; Verlag Th Schäfer, Hanover, until 1995; also for Postskriptum Verlag, Hanover; Hirschgraben Verlag, Frankfurt / M .; the Zu Klampen Verlag, Lüneburg / Springe, as well as for the Lutherische Verlagshaus, Hanover). From 1983 to 1995 he was a freelance music critic for the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ).

He is co-author (alongside Helmut Knocke) of the Art and Culture Lexicon Hannover , published in 1994, 4th edition 2007 by Zu Klampen Verlag, Springe. He is also co-editor, author and designer of the Hanoverian Biographical Dictionary (2002) and the city of Hannover lexicon .
