Carl Dopmeyer
Carl Dopmeyer (born October 24, 1824 in Springe ; † November 9, 1899 in Hanover ) was a German sculptor .
Life
After seven years of training, including with the Hanoverian sculptor Heinrich Ludwig August Hengst , Dopmeyer studied with a scholarship from the Hanoverian king 1851–56 at the Munich Art Academy . Then he worked in Hanover until his death . From 1856 he was a member of the Hanover Art Association . He often created his visual works in collaboration with the architects of the Hanover School , for example with Christoph Hehl , in his later creative years mainly fountains and monuments.
