Marion Charles Roger Ashmore (born July 9, 1899 in Illinois , USA , † February 26, 1948 in Aberdeen , Washington ) was an American American football player . He played as an offensive tackle and defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) with the Milwaukee Badgers , Duluth Eskimos and the Green Bay Packers .

career

Marion Ashmore grew up in Aberdeen and studied from 1922 to 1924 at Gonzaga University . With the "Gonzaga Bulldogs" he played American football in 1922 and 1923 . He was used both in the offense and in the defense of his team. In 1923, he served as the captain of his college team. During his playing time with the Bulldogs, he didn't miss a single minute of the game.

Curly Lambeau

In 1926, Ashmore joined the Milwaukee Badgers . A year later he moved to the Duluth Eskimos trained by Ernie Nevers . In 1928 he was hired by the Green Bay Packers , who were looked after by Curly Lambeau . The Packers managed to strengthen themselves decisively before the 1929 season. Top players like Cal Hubbard , John McNally or Mike Michalske could be tied to the team. Ashmore was able to win the NFL championship with his team this year . The Packers ended the season without a loss. After this round, Ashmore ended his career.

Honors

Marion Ashmore was voted All-Pro in 1928. He is a member of the Gonzaga University Hall of Fame .
