Endre Kádár

Endre Kádár (born Endre Schwartz 9. December 1886 in Kunhegyes , Austria-Hungary ; deported in November 1944 in the Auschwitz concentration camp ) was a Hungarian writer.

Life

Endre Schwartz's parents Anná Altmann and Dávid Schwartz came from a humble background. Schwartz attended high school and Magyarized his name in 1904. He studied philosophy in Budapest . He has written articles for Magyar Hírlap , Budapesti Napló , A Polgár , Nagyváradi Napló , Az Újság , Élet , Magyar Figyelő , A Nap and Politikai Hetiszemle . From 1909 he also wrote articles in the literary magazine Nyugat . In 1913 he published a volume of short stories. During the First World War , Kádár stayed in Switzerland . His novel Balalajka , published in 1919, was illustrated by his wife Lívia Müller . They lived in France in the 1920s. The marriage ended in divorce and Kádár lived in Hungary again.

Kádár was deported to Auschwitz concentration camp in November 1944 and murdered there.
