The Endress + Hauser AG is an internationally active Swiss in measurement instrumentation, services and solutions for industrial process engineering. The group of companies, based in Reinach near Basel, comprises 134 companies in 48 countries and employs almost 14,000 people. In 2018, the family-run stock corporation generated sales of around 2.5 billion euros .

Products
Endress + Hauser supplies a wide range of sensors, devices, systems and services for level, flow, pressure and temperature measurement as well as liquid analysis and measured value registration , connects field devices to process control systems and supports its customers with automation and information technology services and solutions.
In 2018, the company applied for 287 new patents and invested 7.5% of its total sales in research and development. There are currently more than 7,800 property rights in the name of the Endress + Hauser Group.
Industry sectors
The majority of customers come from the chemical and petrochemical, food, water and wastewater, life sciences, oil and gas, energy and power plants, raw materials and metals, paper and pulp and shipbuilding industries. With the support of Endress + Hauser, you optimize your process engineering processes from the point of view of environmental protection, safety and economic efficiency.
history
Endress + Hauser was founded in 1953 by Georg Endress (1924–2008) and Ludwig Hauser (1895–1975) in Lörrach as a sales company for level measurement devices. 1956 began with the production of the first own measuring devices. Successes in Europe were followed by the establishment of subsidiaries in the USA as well as in Japan (1970) and China (1980).
The company has been owned by the Endress family since 1975. In 1995 Klaus Endress took over management of the group from his father Georg. Over more than six decades, Endress + Hauser has developed from a specialist in level measurement to a provider of complete solutions for industrial measurement technology and automation. At the turn of the year 2013/14, Klaus Endress moved to the Group's Board of Directors and handed over management to Matthias Altendorf.
At the beginning of 2013, Analytik Jena was taken over, thus expanding its activities into the field of laboratory analysis.
Endress + Hauser is a member of the Baden Industrial Companies Association . Klaus Endress was president of the association from 2008 to 2018.
