The Endurance Point ( English ; Spanish Cabo Endurance ) is a headland on the south coast of Elephant Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is 7 km northeast of Cape Lookout and east of Mount Elder and forms the southern boundary of the entrance to Sintika Cove south of the mouth of the Endurance Glacier into the Weddell Sea .
Argentine scientists named it after the name of the neighboring glacier. This is named after the Antarctic patrol ship HMS Endurance . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2018.
