Energetika is a free browser game , which is also available as an offline version.

Game objective

The aim of the strategy game is, as energy minister, to ensure a sustainable power supply for the next 40 years. In addition, the higher-level portal offers information about technical, social and economic relationships in energy supply . The game is designed for use in class.

Competition Energetika 2010

The Energetika 2010 competition was divided into two phases, which together had around 11,000 participants:

  • Individual competition - the aim was to be among the top three of the overall highscore on September 24th.
The prices advertised were:
1st prize: trip for two to the world's largest photovoltaic power plant in Beneixama, Spain, including flight and two overnight stays.
2nd prize: Trip to Greifswald to visit the Wendelstein 7-X fusion reactor, including travel and two overnight stays.
3rd prize: trip for two people to the wind farm in Bremerhaven including travel and an overnight stay.
In addition, there were various prizes for the winners each month during the project phase.
The national winner was the student of the Hölderlin-Gymnasium Andrés Gvirtz, whose energy mix inbs. based on hydropower plants.
  • School duel - this did not differ in the task, but in that only students who played on behalf of their school between September 25 and October 3 were eligible to participate. In contrast to the individual competition, students no longer had a chance of winning. The prizes and winners were as follows:
1st place with 400 euros in prize money: Hölderlin high school in Heidelberg (Baden-Württemberg)
2nd place with 300 euros in prize money: Gymnasium Miesbach (Upper Bavaria)
3rd place with 200 euros in prize money: Realschule Althengstett (near Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg)

Development and prices

It was developed on the initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research by the Stuttgart Society for Communication and Cooperation Research Dialogik GmbH in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart , the Jülich Research Center , the German Aerospace Center and other scientific institutions. In 2011 it received the German computer game award in the Best Serious Game category .
