Energy Alley A7

Energieallee A7 is the name of a project initiative to promote the installation of wind turbines along the 963-kilometer-long federal motorway 7 . The project sponsors are the non-profit "European Association for Renewable Energies ( Eurosolar eV)" and the "Hermann Scheer Foundation".

The aim of the project initiative is to “follow the concept of the same name by Dr. Hermann Scheer to help implement it. ”In 2009, the former president of Eurosolar eV, who died in October 2010, proposed to turn Germany's longest motorway into a wind farm and to build around 1,250 wind turbines along the route, which could carry up to 3.8 million three Households could supply electricity. Scheer called his vision "Energieallee A7". The idea was first presented by Martin Unfried in a taz column on November 7, 2008 as “The longest wind farm in the world”.
