The Energy GmbH is active in the renewable energy sector as project leader and operation of wind energy, biomass and photovoltaic plants and substations and energy saving.

history

The company was founded in 1997 by Doreen and Michael Raschemann and Joachim Uecker, with the largest locations in Kallinchen (near Berlin) and Bremen. Today the company has further branches in Oldenburg, Hanover, Putlitz, Penzing, Erfurt, Dresden, Rostock as well as Rennes and Dijon (France) and Helsinki (Finland).

In 2010 Energiequelle GmbH took over the French company "P&T" as a 100% subsidiary, which plans and looks after wind farms in France. One year later, Energiequelle realized a sensational project in Germany: Feldheim , a village in Brandenburg, became the first energy self-sufficient place in Germany. The village was supplied exclusively with renewable energies, which flow directly and not only virtually to the consumer.

In 2013, Energiequelle's projects achieved a total output of 1,000 megawatts and the following year was the year with the highest turnover in the company's history with over 200 million euros.

Another technical innovation in the context of the energy transition was also associated with Feldheim: in 2015 the regional control power plant (RRKW) went into operation. With its 10 megawatt lithium-ion batteries, it compensates for fluctuations in the network frequency of the transmission system operator and also ensures that the village is fully supplied. In the same year, Energiequelle founded its subsidiary in Finland.

The company now has 200 employees. The annual turnover in 2017 was almost 100 million euros. Today, Energiequelle is one of the ten largest German companies for renewable energies.
