Life

Nothing is known about the origins and genealogical descent of Engelbert von Wulften. On April 28, 1424 he received a papal promise to praise the cathedral in Osnabrück and Münster. As the canon of Münster, he was first mentioned in a document on June 23, 1444. On July 27, 1450, he joined the protest against the appointment of Walram von Moers as bishop, whose election led to the Munster collegiate feud . If he so by the Bishop with a ban has been occupied, can not be determined with certainty. The canons Hermann Droste zu Vischering , Hugo von Schagen and Heinrich Korff called Schmising , who also belonged to the protest movement, received an episcopal ban. It is also not documented whether Hermann von Hövel received a ban.
