The English rock is a rock ledge in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . In the Crary Mountains it rises on the western slope of Mount Frakes .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1975 after Claude L. English Jr. of the US Navy's VXE-6 squadron, who had participated in Operation Deep Freeze campaigns in 1961, 1962, 1965 and 1970 .
