History of the new building

The Rheinkamp sports center , the successful home of the MSC, had to be closed in 2008 due to deficiencies in fire protection. Then the "Adler" played in the sports hall Adolfinum, which was technically equipped for 100,000 euros for the 1st Bundesliga. In the summer of 2010, the German Volleyball League decided after two years to no longer allow an exception for the Moerser SC because this hall does not meet the requirements for the 1st Bundesliga (hall height). In order to avoid a forced relegation, the MSC avoided the RWE sports hall in Mülheim an der Ruhr for the next two years . On March 18, 2010 it was decided to build a new sports hall on the grounds of the Rheinkamp sports center. After 18 months of construction, the sports park could be completed. Customers of the ENNI Group could decide on the name. After submitting over 70 suggestions, the name Enni-Sportpark Rheinkamp was selected from five final options. On January 27, 2013, the MSC played their first home game in the new hall, but were defeated by the Chemie Volleys Mitteldeutschland 0: 3 (21: 25, 24: 26, 18: 25) in front of a sold out house.
