Career

societies

Sarr began playing football in 1999 at what is now SV Leithe 19/65. He came to Bayer 04 Leverkusen via Schwarz-Weiß Essen and FC Schalke 04 , for whose second team he was recommended. In the Regionalliga season 2012/13 he was used ten times in the first half of the season , more often than any other defender.

At the turn of the year 2012/13, Sarr moved to Borussia Dortmund . There he was first used in the A-youth (U-19). Sarr made his debut in paid football for Borussia Dortmund II on July 20, 2013 on the first day of the 2013/14 season in the 3rd division against VfB Stuttgart II . For the 2013/14 season he moved up to the professional squad of coach Jürgen Klopp and - without having previously played a game in the 1st Bundesliga - was used for the full season in the UEFA Champions League against Olympique Marseille on December 11, 2013 .

On December 14, 2013, the defender made his Bundesliga debut against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . For the season 2016/17 changed Sarr for the second representation of the VfL Wolfsburg in the Regionalliga Nord .

For the 2018/19 season he joined VfR Aalen , where he was only used as a substitute.

With the relegation of Aalen to the regional league, his contract with a clause in the summer of 2019 lost its validity and the defender followed his teammate Patrick Schorr to FC Carl Zeiss Jena . There he underwent two own goals in his first league game for FC Carl Zeiss on July 22, 2019 against FC Ingolstadt, through which Jena lost the game 1: 2, and thus became the first player in the history of the 3rd division, the two own goals have been committed in a game. End of September 2019 for disciplinary reasons, together with his teammates Sarr Kilian Pagliuca and Ole Käuper , for the time being until the winter break in the league team added. At the beginning of October, the return to the professional squad took place under the new head coach Rico Schmitt . The defender was no longer used and was finally suspended from match and training operations together with four other professionals after the 30th matchday at the beginning of June 2020 . His contract, which expired on June 30, 2020, was ultimately not extended, whereupon he left Jena at the end of the season.

In summer 2020, Sarr took part in the training camp for clubless players of the Association of Contract Footballers in Duisburg .

National team

With the German U17 national team , he took part in the U17 European Championship in Slovenia in 2012 . Under coach Stefan Böger, the team won all the games in the preliminary round, won the semifinals against Poland 1-0 and had to admit defeat to the Netherlands 4-5 in the final on penalties .
