Enrico Norelli

Enrico Norelli (born June 21, 1952 in Grosseto ) is an Italian church historian . He is professor of the history of early Christianity at the University of Geneva .

Life

He has two doctorates: Dr. phil. from the University of Pisa and Dr. theol. of the University of Geneva. He worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Religious Studies in Bologna between 1975 and 1982 and as a librarian at the University of Bologna between 1977 and 1989. Between 1985 and 1988 he taught history of historiography at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Trieste . Since 1988 he has been teaching at the Faculty of Protestant Theology at the University of Geneva, first as an assistant, then as a lecturer and academic assistant professor of Christian apocryphal literature and finally as a professor of the history of early Christianity since 2004.

He is a member of the Association pour l'étude de la littérature apocryphe chrétienne (AELAC) and other associations specializing in the study of early Christianity. He is co-director of the Poche Apocryphes collection edited by AELAC and publisher of the Letteratura Cristiana antica collection (Brescia). He researches the history and literature of the early Christian centuries, the construction of heresies in ancient Christianity and Christian apocryphal literature.
