Enrico Piccioni (born November 23, 1961 in San Benedetto del Tronto ) is a former Italian football player and current coach .

Career

As a player

Piccioni began his professional career as a central defender in 1980 with Sambenedettese before moving to Forlì FC after just one year . In 1982 he got a contract with FC Empoli , where he played again for only a year before moving to AC Perugia . After another season 1984/85 with FC Empoli, he went to US Catanzaro in the summer of 1985 , where he played until 1987. For another five years he was in the service of US Cremonese until 1992 , before he let his active career end in the 1992/93 season with his hometown club Sambenedettese.

As a trainer

In 2007 Piccioni took over the coaching position at his former club Sambenedettese , where he worked until 2009. From September to December 2009 he was in charge of Botew Plovdiv . At the end of the 2011/12 season he took over FK Shumen 2010 in June , which he led into the new season, but was released in December. In the 2013/14 season he worked for the Maltese first division club FC Mosta . There he was released in November 2014.
