Enrique Congrains Martin

Enrique Congrains (full name Enrique Congrains Martín ; * 1932 in Lima , Peru , † July 6, 2009 in Cochabamba , Bolivia) was a Peruvian writer. He is one of the early representatives of Peruvian metropolitan literature.

Life

Enrique Congrains attended primary and secondary school in Lima. His story El niño de junto al cielo has been published in numerous reading books in Peru. Together with Julio Ramón Ribeyro , Canos Eduardo Zavaleta and Manuel Scorza , he belonged to the 50 generation . His novel No una, sino muchas muertes ("Nobody, but many dead)" was the subject of a film by Francisco Lombardi entitled "Maruja Made in Hell" . Most recently he lived in Bolivia for several years, where he died of cardiac arrest in hospital. He had 8 children.
