Ensemble town center of Straßkirchen
The Ensemble center in Straßkirchen , in the municipality of Salzweg in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau is a building complex , which under monument stands.
description
The ensemble includes the center of the parish village on the old trunk road from Passau into the Bavarian Forest . A large former prince-bishop's manor gives it special significance.
The buildings belonging to the ensemble are assigned to a very short lane that branches off from the main road (today's Bundesstraße 12 ) at a right angle. At its end it is cordoned off by the churchyard, and the apex of the late Gothic choir of the parish church of St. Giles optically closes off the square at this point.
On the south side of the alley are the buildings characteristic of a parish village: the schoolhouse from the late 19th century and the Kramer estate, an old flat roof house . The north side is determined by the residential wing of the former estate, which was converted into a brewery inn in the 19th century. A small English-style park belonging to the manor is across the main road, but its entrance relates precisely to the alley.
